最近、よく聞く言葉でブラックフライデーというのがありますが、株価の暴落を思わせるブラックマンデーを想起させ、あまりいい印象を持ちません。
そこで、ネットで調べてみました。

アメリカ最大規模のセール「クリスマスセール」の初日にあたる日で、多くの企業・商店が大型商戦をしかけるのでブラックフライデーと呼ばれている。
フィラデルフィアの新聞が「小売業者が儲かり黒字になる」という解釈を発表してからは、良い意味で使われるようになった。

ということで、ブラックも黒字という意味に解釈し、近年日本でも広まっているようです。
